Windsurfing

With gin-clear water and steady onshore trade winds, Bonaire is consistently ranked among the best places in the world for windsurfing. Lac Bay, a protected cove on the east coast, is ideal for windsurfing, and pros from around the world travel here to train with Team Bonaire. This local group of sailors are some of the best windsurfers in the world. Beginners and novice sailors come to hone their skills. The island's windsurfing companies are headquartered there on Sorobon Beach.

Bonaire Windsurf Place. Commonly referred to as "the Place," this shop rents the latest Hot Sails Maui, Starboard, and RRD equipment. The service is personalized and efficient. Local windsurfer Kenneth will insure you have the right rigged gear before you head into the tropical blue. The windsurf launch can be quite congested on cruise ship days as the shop rents loungers, thus creating a large volume of nonwindsurf beachgoers.
