Granaway Guest House
1 Longford Rd., off Harbour Rd., Warwick, WK 06, BermudaWhy We Like It
The welcoming owners and caretaker make this guest house feel like home. Conveniently located between the beaches and downtown Hamilton, there aren't any shops, bars, or restaurants nearby. However, being in your own little world gives you all the more reason to soak in the lush garden setting and waste away an afternoon by the pool.
Fodor's Expert Review
A 1734 manor house with villa-like lawn and gardens, Granaway is an affordable accommodation option for those who do not need to be on the beach. It has clean and well-maintained rooms and lots of space to relax with its lounges, outdoor chairs, and barbecue area. Don't worry about transportation, as it's right across the street from Hamilton Harbour and within walking distance of a ferry terminal.
You Should Know There's no sand in sight at this road-side property. Don't worry though, Bermuda's famous south shore beaches are an easy 10-minute taxi ride away.

Room
All rooms are distinct; the Palmetto Room features original Bermuda cedar beams, and the Royale Room has its own terrace with harbor views. A private cottage, which maxes out at $325 a night in peak season, gives you your own cozy home with a kitchen.
Bathroom
Nothing fancy but clean and well-appointed, if on the older side.
Lobby
Very homey in every sense of the word. There's a friendly, welcoming charm that permeates the house, attracting guests to the dining room for a shared breakfast and tales of Bermuda.
Pool
Float to your heart's content in the tranquil pool, surrounded by flowering bushes and shaded by palms. The property also boasts a private harbor-view dock for swimming and picnicking.
Dining
The daily continental breakfast in the dining room is a social affair, bringing guests together to discuss outings and activities with input from the helpful owners Carol and Michael. You can also take your morning meal in the gardens or opt for room service.
Tip Cheese, crackers, wine, and a magical sunset enjoyed on the private dock--how's that for romantic?
Drinking
Stock up on a few bottles for your fridge and sip chilled goodness in the gardens throughout your stay.

Getting Around
Plan to take the pink route into Hamilton from the Belmont Ferry wharf, located just minutes away. Be careful walking along Harbour Road as it is quite narrow. Alternatively, you can cut across to Middle Road and catch a bus to either end of the island.
Restaurants
It's not the easiest to find, but Thyme at the Club (7-minute drive) offers a unique and personalized dining experience that's worth searching for. Select from a short but thoughtful selection of seasonally inspired dishes or attend one of their popular wine tasting socials. Proud winner of the 2015 best fish sandwich competition, Rosa's (9-minute drive) delivers crowd-pleasing Tex Mex with a definite island twist. Check out their nightly specials--like two-for-one margaritas on Monday--and prepare for a fun-filled evening.
