5 Barbados Hotels With Outstanding Pools
Most hotels and resorts on the island have a pool, but some of those pools are extraordinary due to their size, shape, length, or location. The pools at these five Barbados hotels are well worth mentioning--because they are simply the best.
Sandy Lane Hotel and Golf Club
Why it made the list
Whether you like to play Marco Polo with the kids, do the Australian crawl, or just tread water, Sandy Lane’s 7,500-square-foot pool—with a cascading waterfall—provides plenty of room for everyone.
Sweetfield Manor
Why it made the list
The inn is small, and so is its extraordinarily lovely pool—a rock-edged, free-form design surrounded by a jungle of tropical plants. A flock of peacocks wanders freely on the adjacent lawn that covers the hillside—perhaps they enjoy the view, too.
Colony Club Hotel
Why it made the list
A long lagoon-style swimming pool meanders through 7 acres of gardens on the resort property, passing by guestrooms (with direct pool access) and expanding into larger pools, with waterfalls, as it flows toward one large, main pool.
The Crane
Why it made the list
The resort’s infinity-edge Historic Pool may be one of the world’s most photographed pools—and it’s lovely. Most guests, though, head for the newer pool complex—1.5 acres of fun that includes a pair of pools connected by a waterfall and a Roman-style spa pool.
Sandals Royal Barbados
Why it made the list
While the enormous main pool here and the lagoon pool that threads its way around the property (as well as the pools at adjacent Sandals Barbados) are big and beautiful, the Royal’s rooftop infinity-edge pool is quite an engineering feat. The view is breathtaking, especially when you swim close to the edge!
