Fodor's Expert Review Regatta Beach Fish Fry

For an authentic Bahamian experience, don't miss the Regatta Beach Fish Fry on Regatta Beach, just south of the government buildings in the town center. On weekends, at least two fish shacks open late in the afternoon and stay lively on into the night. Duke's Deck offers excellent conch salad and you can watch him make it from start to finish, including cracking the conch from the shell. Cedell's Sunshine Take Away gathers a regular crowd for her food (great fritters!). On weekends, Hidden Treasures offers Rake 'n' Scrape music performed by famed Bo Hog and the Rooters from around 8 pm. It's a great place for sunset watching and mingling with locals.
