Fodor's Expert Review Lloyd's Sporting Lounge
South Long Island: Deadman's Cay to Gordon's
Dance Clubs
The long name is Lloyd’s Sporting Lounge & Entertainment Center and, for Long Island, it has quite a bit. This new, comfortable, and smartly designed sports bar and lounge has big-screen TVs for sports, and five pool tables. In a separate room they also have a dance/disco to the live tunes of the D Changes Band and DJs every Friday and Saturday night. It's $10 for gents, ladies are free. Lloyd’s hosts frequent pool tournaments and people flock to enjoy happy hour from 5 to 7 pm weekdays when beer buckets are four for $12. Other times, beers and rum and Cokes are a reasonable $4.50. Their food is also good and affordable: Long Island mutton, chicken, steaks, seafood, and various fettuccine main courses average $11 for chicken to $32 for T-bone steak. Lloyd’s is well thought out and rather luxurious for the Out Islands—very enjoyable especially for big-group entertainment and dining, to catch sports on TV, or to dance to some live music.
