Fodor's Expert Review Greenwich Creek Lodge

Off Queen's Hwy., in Cartwright's, 3 miles south of Deadman's Cay Airport, Deadman's Cay, Long Island, Bahamas

One of Long Island’s newest places is the tranquil Greenwich Creek Lodge on the west waters of Cartwright’s. This smart, new, two-story 11-room boutique inn has elevated views of the salt flats and the Exuma Sound with each room opening onto a wraparound porch or balcony. All the rooms are spacious, with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and baths en suite, and four have kitchenettes. The large dining room offers delicious fare, specializing in fresh seafood. Continental breakfast is included. Either in the bar, on your balcony, or at the pool enjoy drinks—and their signature Up The Creek cocktail—with splendid sunsets. Host Janice and the staff, are warm, obliging, and very knowledgeable. They know almost everyone and can advise on places to eat, sights, and excursions. Greenwich specializes in bonefishing, using top guides, skiffs, and tackle. They also arrange car rentals, diving, and other excursions. Enjoy free kayaks, a small gym, and free Wi-Fi.
