Fodor's Expert Review Nesbitt's Delaporte Restaurant & Lounge
The vibe in this hole-in-the-wall restaurant is set by whomever controls the jukebox, which has everything from current hits to old-school R&B, to local Rake 'n' Scrape. The food is simple but hits the spot, and the lounge is a great place to meet some locals. The cracked conch and grouper (which you can have steamed, fried, or sautéed), are popular for dinner. Breakfast is standard Bahamian fare, but there are omelets for the less adventurous. Late-night revelers head here to ward off a hangover with a plate of greasy fried chicken, pork chop, or conch bites. Feel free to get up and dance if the mood strikes.
