About halfway between Governor's Harbour and Rock Sound, distinguished Windermere Island, 5 miles long with a lovely pink-sand beach, is the site of vacation homes of the rich and famous, including Mariah Carey and members of the British royal family. Don't plan on any drive-by ogling of these million-dollar homes, though; the security gate prevents sightseers from passing.
