Fodor's Expert Review California Lighthouse
Built in 1916, the landmark lighthouse on the island’s northwestern tip is open to the public, and visitors can climb the spiral stairs to discover a fabulous panoramic view for a small fee. Declared a national monument in 2015, the lighthouse was built because of and named after the merchant ship California that sunk nearby. There are also spectacular private catered three-course dinner experiences for two people at the top that can be booked through Experitours; there's a choice of sunset or under-the-stars seating. They also do a catered breakfast. It's one of only two lighthouse dining experiences in the world.
