A round-the-island tour by taxi takes about 2½ hours and costs about $55 for one or two people, $5 for each additional passenger. Special-interest nature and culture tours are available.

Anguilla Access Tours. A three-hour tour gives an introduction to island heritage, culture, food, nightlife, arts and crafts, or just beaches. Anguilla Tourist Board. Tuesdays at 10, by appointment, Sir Emile Gumbs, the island's former chief minister, leads tours of the Sandy Ground area that highlight historic and ecological sites. Its $20 fee benefits the Anguilla Archeological and Historical Society. Gumbs also organizes bird-watching expeditions that spy everything from frigate birds to turtledoves. Tours tailored to almost any interest—sea turtle nesting sites, historic buildings, birding sites, gardens, and art galleries—can also be booked through the office. Nature Explorers Anguilla. Ecotourists, photographers, families, and bird-watchers can enjoy a variety of tours of Anguilla's wildlife and wetlands.
