Fodor's Expert Review Logan Brown

Wellington

Fodor's Choice
Occupying a 1920s bank building with Corinthian columns and a classical dome, Logan Brown is a winner. An aquarium tank is set into the bar top, so that fish swim by under your cocktail. The menu highlights New Zealand's produce and exemplary wines; the service is swift and unpretentious. Ensure a memorable meal by ordering line-caught hāpuku (groper) with tuatua (clam) fritters and pickled beets or, perhaps, venison with black-pudding sweetbreads, followed by a delicious lemon pudding with a dollop of citrus-oil ice cream.
