One of Marlborough's finest dining experiences is found at the Hans Herzog Estate, tucked away along a short side road leading down to the Wairau River. Superb three-, five-, or seven-course dinner menus pair Herzog wines with innovative dishes; the set and à la carte menus might include an appetizer of scampi and wild fennel, then a 70-day-aged Wakanui rib eye. Retire to the lounge after dinner for a coffee or a digestif. More casual lunches are available in the Herzog Cellar Door Bistro.
