Fodor's Expert Review Sasso

Authentic Italian meets fresh New Zealand produce, topped off with fine local and Italian wines. If you have the time and appetite, go for the five-course Sapore di Sasso. Pair it with the recommended wines and the incredibly helpful staff and you'll have a great night; Sasso has done very well to build a culture of fine service and personality in a town not known for either. The beef carpaccio stays on the menu for good reason.
