Fodor's Expert Review Lakeview Tekapo

Taking full advantage of the region's status as a dark sky reserve, each of Lakeview Tekapo's three suites have a stargazing window (with blind) directly over the bed. Coming from a motel background, the owners have designed these suites to be fully self-contained, a very warm and well insulated. Rooms are laid out intelligently and face directly toward Lake Tekapo and the surrounding mountains, with a maximum of two people per room, and no children allowed. Although the main highway lies between the lake and the rooms, noise isn't an issue.
