Te Puke rightfully claims the title of kiwifruit capital of the world, as the major kiwifruit growing and exporting region of New Zealand. Kiwi 360 is devoted to this furry little vitamin C--loaded fruit. You can tour an actual kiwifruit orchard on a cute little KiwiKart train and learn all about the complexities of raising an export-ready crop, learn why it grows so well in this fertile region---and sample the harvest. Tours depart every hour, from 9 to 4 (summer) and 10 to 3 (winter). Then you can enjoy the wholesome food in the Kiwi 360 café, and browse the huge range of quality designer products and mementos in the Kiwi 360 store. To find it, look for the giant kiwifruit, just beside SH2 five minutes’ drive south of Te Puke (take the free SH2 road, not the toll expressway).
