It's easy to miss this tiny cafe on the main street but tucked in a corner. Make a point of seeking it out—it easily serves the best lunch in town. Opt for the "paw cakes," corn cakes draped with bacon, mushrooms, and chicken in a rosemary cream sauce, or choose something from the counter, such as the layered pumpkin tart or the chicken cottage pie. If you're lucky enough to arrive during feijoa season, ask for the almond, feijoa, and lime cake, served with yogurt and a berry coulis drizzled in the shape of a cat's paw. Many of the dishes are wheat- and gluten-free.
