Bus Travel

InterCity bus service connects Christchurch with major towns and cities in the South Island. The Coastal Pacific train runs from Christchurch to Blenheim and Picton at the top of the South Island and connects with the InterIslander Ferry to the North Island. The TranzAlpine train is one of the Great Train Journeys of the World. Christchurch has a good metropolitan bus service.
