Fodor's Expert Review Daniel Schuster

Daniel Schuster is one of Canterbury's pioneering winemakers. His vines are grown in a traditional manner, without irrigation, and his wines are crafted by hand—a little from this barrel and a little from that. He is a master at work, and his wines are some of the best coming out of Canterbury. Tastings cost $3 (refunded on a wine purchase) and the tasting room is open from 10 to 5 every day. Tea and coffee are served out on the deck, and cellar tours are by appointment. Parking is limited; if they're busy there's a short walk up the hill from the lower parking lot.
