Fodor's Expert Review Ginger & Garlic
In winter, a big fire warms you up, and, in summer, fabulous sunsets can be seen from a window table. In a bold three-sided building at the top of the main street, the restaurant, Timaru's finest, overlooks Caroline Bay and the port—where the head chef, Jason, gets his seafood fresh each day. They have an extensive wine list and a comprehensive menu featuring Canterbury lamb, seafood, duck, and salmon. If you can't decide what to have you can choose from a tasting selection of five or seven courses which changes daily.
