Fodor's Expert Review Eliza's Manor Boutique Hotel

82 Bealey Ave., Christchurch, Canterbury, 8013, New Zealand

Owner Ann warmly greats her guests no matter what unearthly time they arrive at this stately yet down-home bed-and-breakfast, with beautifully decorated rooms and unexpected little extras (home-baked biscuits in your room is just the start). Built in 1861, it's one of the oldest character buildings left in Christchurch and has been extensively refurbished. Located on a busy street, its triple-glazed windows ensure traffic noise is negligible, but the back rooms are quietest (and cheaper). Breakfast is notable here with lots to choose from; the eggs Benedict (made from scratch) is superb.
