KiwiRail, New Zealand's train operator, has a terminal and booking office at the Britomart Transportation Centre, on the harbor end of Queen Street. Service leaves Auckland for Wellington Monday, Thursday, and Saturday and returns Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Britomart Transport Centre. The hub of Auckland's growing rail network system is built in the city's historic central post office with a modern annex that houses the train hub. There is a currency exchange in the renovated old building that is adjacent to the fast-growing Britomart Precinct, with its trendy eateries and fashion stores.
