A fixture in Auckland's dining landscape, this degustation-menu-only restaurant serves sublime food. Six-course, eight-course, nine-course, and plant-only menus can be matched with wines if you choose. The wine list is outstanding. Start with an amuse-bouche of king salmon, chorizo, and ricotta; follow it with chook (chicken) and egg, pea, mustard, and cheddar; and finish with chocolate and beet. On Tuesday there is a four-course dine-by-donation menu with all proceeds going to a different charity each month. Merediths is intimate, fabulous, and always busy. It can be hard to get a table, with people booking months ahead.
