Fodor's Expert Review Dida's Wine Lounge & Tapas
Editor's Note: This location is reported to be under new ownership and therefore this review may contain inaccuracies.
In 1941 a grocer's shop stood on this site, run by a Croatian, Joseph Jakicevich, who also made his own wine and three generations later, his descendants run this lively wine-and-tapas bar in the same building. More than 100 wines are offered by the glass to accompany a menu of around 18 tapas—all Spanish with a Kiwi twist—which vary depending on the season. Locals love this place, so you may need to arrive early to get a table, especially on a Thursday or Friday night.
