By Bus

Several of the major islands in French Polynesia have the infrastructure for public transportation. Buses are called L'Trucks, and even though most have evolved beyond the flat-bed trucks with benches, they can still be a bit rustic. Stops are marked with a blue sign, and most fares are set per route, rather than distance traveled (note that you pay your fare at the end of your trip). Although schedules are set, don't expect the buses to run on time.
