Fodor's Expert Review Papenoo

This black-sand surfing beach stretches for a few hundred yards and is highly rated among the world's surfing fraternity. The waves get a little crowded on the weekend; however, midweek you might have it all to yourself. There are no facilities apart from open space beside the road, where surfers and sightseers park their cars. Nearby, at around PK 17, the Papenoo River flows into the sea.
