The emergency number in Fiji is 911. The response time can vary widely, depending on where you are and how difficult it is to reach you. Hospital and clinic care tends to be clean and good, if a bit rustic, so don't delay getting help if you need it.

If you're arrested, you have the right to contact your embassy or consulate, but the rule of thumb is that your embassy can't do much if the problem is one of your own making. Carry the number of your embassy with you at all times.
