Getting Here and Around

Renting a car in Melbourne and driving south along the Nepean Highway is the most practical way of seeing the Mornington Peninsula. At Frankston you can take the Frankston-Moorooduc Highway or stay on the Nepean Highway—eventually they both merge into the Mornington Peninsula Highway, which continues south to the various bay-side towns. A train runs from Flinders Street Station to Frankston. At Frankston, connect with a diesel-train service to towns on the east of the peninsula including Hastings, Bittern, Point Crib, and Stony Point. Buses also run from Frankston to the bay-side towns; the No. 781 bus goes to Mornington and Mount Martha and the No. 782 and 783 buses travel to Hastings and Flinders on the Western Port side.

Ferries run passenger services to Phillip Island from Stony Point, and a car and passenger ferry services Queenscliff and Sorrento. A shuttle bus runs from Melbourne Airport's international terminal to Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula.
