Choose your own live mud crab from holding tanks at this much-lauded seafood restaurant fronting Dickson Inlet. Watch yachts dock as you sit on the deck and down the sunset special: a generous bucket of prawns and a choice of Aussie beer or wine. Modern Australian dishes put the focus on fresh North Queensland produce and seafood, which is delivered direct from local fishing boats to the restaurant's pontoon. You can start with freshly shucked oysters or chili-salt calamari, then move on to beer-battered Spanish mackerel, crispy-skinned barramundi, or the restaurant's famed fish curry. There's also a kids' menu (A$15, two courses), and a terrific wine and cocktail list. If you're planning to come during peak dinner hours, a reservation is highly recommended.
