Greyhound Australia, the country's only nationwide bus line, travels to around 1,100 destinations. Bus stops are well signposted, and vehicles usually run on schedule. It's 1,716 km (1,064 miles), a 30-hour journey, between Brisbane and Cairns. Book in person at Greyhound's Roma Street office, by phone, or online. Purchase point-to-point tickets or flexible passes that allow multiple stops. Most buses are also equipped with USB ports and Wi-Fi.

Crisps Coaches operates a morning and afternoon service from Brisbane to the Southern Downs and towns to the city's south and west. TransLink's help line and website can help you find bus lines that run to your destination.
