All Sydney surfers have their favorite breaks, but you can usually count on good waves on at least one of the city's ocean beaches.

Lets Go Surfing. This is a complete surfing resource for anyone who wants to hang five with confidence. Lessons are available for all ages and you can rent or buy boards and wet suits. Manly Surf School. This company conducts courses for adults and children, and provides all equipment, including wet suits. Adults can join a two-hour group lesson (four per day) for A$70. Private instruction costs A$100 per hour. Stand-up paddling (on a board) lessons are also available, and are held on the calm waters of Balmoral and Narrabeen lakes.
