International and local ATMs are scattered throughout the city. The local banks have a per-transaction limit of about 2 million dong (about $88) so to minimize international withdrawal fees, look for international bank ATMs, such as HSBC and Citibank. If exploring rural areas outside of Ho Chi Minh City's sprawl, it's a good idea to take plenty of low-denomination bills, as small shops and stalls frequently have difficulty changing large bills.
