Car Travel

Eastern Gulf resorts are fairly close to Bangkok, so driving is a possibility. The worst part is getting out of Bangkok. On the Western Gulf, it's a long, exhausting drive farther south to Chumphon, Surat Thani, or Krabi. It may be cheaper, safer, and more convenient to hire a car and driver. This is best done while in Bangkok; your hotel can make arrangements.
