Air Travel

There are daily, relatively inexpensive flights from Bangkok to all of the major beach destinations: Surat Thani, Phuket, and Krabi. It is generally less expensive to fly to Phuket and Surat Thani than to other southern airports. There are also some flights from Chiang Mai to the beaches. Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways, and Phuket Air have regular flights, as do the budget carriers Air Asia and Nok Air. If you’re flexible with your dates, you can find some ridiculously cheap fares. Keep in mind that planes fill up fast during the high season, and the lowest fares are mostly available if booked weeks or months in advance. . All the airports in this region are small and much easier to deal with than Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi.
