Why We Like It

The COMO Metropolitan oozes elegance in the most minimal way possible. The staff is incredibly friendly, the service top-rate, and the spa is to-die-for. With a focus on wellness, guests will find plenty to stay healthy with--from the state-of-the-art-gym and fitness classes to the wheat grass drinks at Glow. The best part of the hotel is the award-winning restaurant Nahm, which serves a you-have-to-try Thai cuisine that will blow you away.

Room

Spacious rooms feature low-to-the-ground plush beds against onyx floors with white rugs and minimal design. Many rooms have window-side gray cushioned couches with endless views over the city. Water, tea, coffee, and fruit is complimentary daily.

Tip Request a Terrace Room where you’ll have your own private, landscaped patio and an outdoor rain shower--great for couples.

Bathroom

Nothing too outlandish, the bathrooms have beige tile, deep sunken tubs, and are outfitted with COMO Shambala bath products (which are the bomb).

Lobby

Continuing the minimalist themes, the sparse lobby has polished marble floors and a smattering of white leather couches and chairs. Guests mostly pass through or hang out while waiting for a taxi.

Pool

On the ground floor of the hotel, the long 25-meter pool is perfect for laps or just lounging on the wicker chairs and double-sized daybeds. There is full food and beverage service as well.

Tip The hotel provides guests with free popsicles! Also, if you forget your sunscreen, they’ve got you covered (literally and figuratively).

Spa

A super elegant spa has 10 treatment rooms and a locker room with a deep plunge Jacuzzi pool that’s perfect both before and after the proceedings. Treatments include massages, facials, and more.

Tip Get their signature COMO Shambala Massage--it’s simply heaven.

Gym

The hotel is very fitness oriented and the gym here has Life Cycle machines and free weights on hardwood floors that look over the pool. There is also a number of complimentary classes, like morning yoga.

Dining

Glow is open for both breakfast and lunch and offers an international, and quite healthy, menu. They also serve incredibly fresh juices, made daily. The true dining gem of the hotel, however, is at Nahm. On the ground floor, this inventive Thai restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and has been consistently ranked as one of the 50 best hotels in Asia.

Drinking

The hotel’s bar is dubbed Met, and is a relaxed drinking den with black leather furniture and dark mood lighting.

Restaurants

La Table De Tee (5-minute walk) is an inviting French restaurant with a great five-course set menu for surprisingly reasonable prices. Eat Me Restaurant (10-minute walk) is a chic and mouthwatering spot with creative international cuisine.

Bars

For one of the most unforgettable views of the city, head next door to the Banyan Tree Hotel where Vertigo & Moon Bar (2-minute walk) hovers over the city and offers up delicious drinks.
