Euljiro

Likely Jung-gu's most talked-about neighborhood in the past five years, Euljiro is the district named after 7th-century military leader Eulji Mundeok. While the neighborhood previously consisted of lighting shops, printing presses, and general warehouses, a newer generation of entrepreneurs have taken over since 2015, making creative use of the industrial spaces. The interesting contrast of a few older shops side by side with the hip bars and restaurants have given Euljiro the nickname “hip-jiro.”
