Fodor's Expert Review RELCIH International Hotel

This is less a hotel than an international conference center often used by Singapore's university for seminars. The upper floors, however, contain bargain guest rooms that are large, basic, and comfortable, with balconies and plenty of light. There are also two floors of serviced apartments for long-term guests. The building is in a residential neighborhood, up a hill beyond the Shangri-La hotel, a 10-minute walk from the Orchard and Scotts roads intersection. The rooms all have coffeemakers, and breakfast is included. Because the hotel is such a good value, make reservations well in advance.
