Forget Europe: Five Nights in the Maldives for $1,299

It’s a 59% discount!

We’ve said it enough times: Europe is a total and utter mess right now. Staff shortages, strikes, delays and cancelations, long queues, and lost luggage have put a damper on summer travel plans. Even in the U.S., things are not running smoothly, which is making travel stressful and expensive. So, we’re keeping an eye on destinations that can be your alternatives if you want to get out without feeling the misery of all this travel chaos.

On Travelzoo, we’ve found a supersaver deal on the Maldives. The island nation has world-class resorts, beautiful sceneries, crystal clear waters, and skydiving opportunities—it has always been a top destination for beach lovers and water babies, but a holiday here comes at a price. But with this resort deal, you will be able to save as much as 59% ($1,800+) on your stay, which isn’t chump change. What’s even more tempting is the fact that Asia is doing relatively better currently, and you may reach your destination with your luggage and patience.

Located in the Raa Atoll (famous for its diving spots), Brennia Kottefaru is a new luxury resort with 142 land and water villas. It features five restaurants and bars, a spa, and multiple beach and water activities. It has a PADI five-star training center, so you can check off another bucket list experience while you’re here.

Travelzoo is offering a five-night stay at the resort for $1,299 in the beach villa with indoor and outdoor showers. If you want to elevate your experience, book the $1,899 water villa with a ladder leading into the ocean, or the ultra-luxurious ocean pool villa with its own private pool at $5,697. Also included in the price are daily breakfast and dinner, complimentary access to the fitness center, non-motorized water sports, and tennis courts, and daily entertainment. It’s inclusive of local taxes and service charges.

You can extend your stay for $259 per night. And, the resort has also discounted all-inclusive packages from $1,699, which gives you all meals, unlimited beverages, daily snorkeling, and 20% off on spa services. You can book this deal now with 14-day refundable vouchers and travel through December 23, 2023.

This is a good deal, but when planning this trip, remember to take into account that it doesn’t include roundtrip transfers from the airport. Since the Maldives is an archipelago, you’ll need to get to the resort from the Male airport via speedboat or seaplane. This will set you back another $500 per person.

Another thing to consider is that the best time to visit the Maldives is during the dry season, from November to April. Right now, it’s the wet season with rainfalls that may keep the sunshine away. But this is also the time when there are fewer people around, and the prices are reasonably low on this extravagant, palm-fringed paradise on Earth.

As a heads up, although Fodor’s fully endorses this deal, we receive a small commission on this transaction.
