Raised on stilts, the Ban Sabai's traditional Lao-style thatch-roof bungalows are among the most rustic accommodations in town. All bungalows have rattan decor, wooden floors, comfortable bedding, modern baths, and glass doors that open onto balconies with river views. The grounds' brick walkways and a pond blend in harmoniously with the river habitat and the pastoral fields and mountains beyond. The resort's staff provides Laotian hospitality and friendly, competent service. The riverside restaurant has a great view along a quiet stretch of river. Bungalow 14 has the best location—right beside the Nam Song River. The pool, though small, comes in handy for cooling off in the steamy Vang Vieng heat.
