Visitor Information

Individual towns have tourist offices that provide local information. The largest and most helpful tourist center, which provides multilingual information on all of Tohoku, is at JR Sendai Station. Within Tokyo each prefecture has an information center with English brochures and maps. In summer the local Japan Travel Bureau can make arrangements for scenic tours by train, bus, or even taxi. The offices in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Sendai arrange tours, some in English.
