At Kuta's mellower southern end, Santika is a solid beachfront choice. The hotel makes a good first impression with mature trees shading its big fish pond and plenty of frangipani blossoms perfuming the air. Choose from a pair of pools, or opt for a chaise lounge in the sand and a dip in the surf. Standard rooms at this mid-sized chain hotel have dashes of Balinese style, but feel a bit dated. Premier-class rooms are newer, larger, and closer to the beach. The area is dominated by large resorts, attracting more couples and families than diehard party animals.
