Fodor's Expert Review Pal Haveli

This 300-year-old rambling haveli (family home) is in the heart of the chaotic labyrinth of central Jodhpur, with views of the Mehrangarh Fort above, and scores high on location and heritage. Family run, with spacious rooms, which open out onto a courtyard and are decorated in traditional designs, it has modern amenities and is fairly priced. The public spaces have some very unusual antiques on display. Only a few rooms have views of the fort or bazaar, but most overlook courtyards or verandas with fountains. The rooftop restaurant is one of the best as far as views and Indian cuisine are concerned.
