Fodor's Expert Review Lake Pichola Hotel

For the price, this hotel has some great features, including a rooftop pool and Upre restaurant where one can spend the day, rooms with private terraces, suites with Jacuzzi or steam room, and a wonderful lakeside location. Not to be confused with the Lake Palace, this hotel is run by a Rajput family who provide friendly, personalized service. The rooms are homey if not elegant, many of them with great views, but there are various options, including deluxe rooms (best value) and suites. The small pool gives the place an edge over the neighbors, and the restaurant menu ranges from standard Indian fare to Mexican food, with a large, reasonably priced wine list.
