Festivals in Rajasthan

The dates of most of Rajasthan's festivals are determined using the Hindu calendar, so timing varies from year to year.

Jodhpur’s RIFF (Rajasthan International Folk Festival) and Jodhpur’s Marwar Festival is usually in late October or November.

The Jaipur Literature Festival in January attracts authors from around the world and is considered one of the most vibrant book festivals in the world, given its size, location and the number of people attending; speakers have ranged from the Dalai Lama to Amartya Sen, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Ondaatje, Orhan Pamuk, Pico Iyer, Gloria Steinem, V S Naipaul (expected 2015), Jhumpa Lahiri, Jonathan Franzen, Ved Mehta, William Dalrymple, and Tom Stoppard.
