Fodor's Expert Review Mira Moon
388 Jaffe Rd., Hong Kong, n/a Hong Kong, Hong Kong
If you get a little nostalgic for Alice in Wonderland at Mira Moon hotel, you’re not totally off the mark: the hypermodern, abstract interiors are meant to depict the legend behind the Mid-Autumn moon festival—a fairy-tale-like Chinese legend revolving around the Moon Goddess of Immortality and a space-traveling jade rabbit. To bring the story to life, Wanders & yoo design house intermingles antique Chinese accents, such as peony details and latticed woodwork, alongside futuristic furnishings and tech-friendly touches. The neighborhood nightlife still errs on the unseemly side, but the hours-long, half-off happy hour at the hotel’s Supergiant Tapas & Cocktails bar and outdoor terrace makes up for it.
