Fodor's Expert Review Ream National Park

Sihanoukville National Park

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

Encompassing 210 square km (81 square miles) of coastal land 16 km (10 miles) north of Sihanoukville, this park includes mangrove forests, the Prek Tuk Sap estuary, two islands, isolated beaches, and offshore coral reefs. For the time being (as development encroaches), macaques, pangolins, sun bears, and muntjac (barking deer) live in the forest. Tours can be booked from most hotels in town or directly with the park rangers who, however, receive mixed reviews in terms of their knowledge of local flora and fauna.
