When to Go

Peak Season: April-June, September-October

Spring is the ideal time to visit, when temperatures hover around 70–80 degrees, fields of wildflowers are in bloom, and fruit is fresh and abundant. Fall, too, is lovely, as the summer tourists dissipate with the heat. Hotel prices fluctuate only slightly in peak season, but package deals can be found online, where many hotels offer exclusive discounts.

Off Season: November - February

Except in the country's northern regions, winters are not terribly cold, but they can be unpleasantly wet.

Shoulder Season: July-August

Tunisia's Mediterranean climate means abundant sunshine in spring, fall, and summer that run the gamut from hot to very hot. Its position near the sea somewhat mitigates temperature extremes; visit the long beaches for cooling off in hot weather.
