Fodor's Expert Review Glen Carlou

What comes out of Glen Carlou is rather special. The Quartzstone Chardonnay 2010 is exceptional, "The Welder" dessert wine is excellent, and the Gravel Quarry Cabernet 2006 is also remarkable. A unique feature of the estate is the Zen Fynbos Garden, a great place to relax after you've stocked up on some seriously good wines. You can always enjoy a meal at the restaurant; expect to pay around R260 for two courses. The citrus-glazed line fish is lovely in summer, and the lamb rump and beef sirloin are perfect for when the rain is pelting down outside.
