Fodor's Expert Review Mange Tout
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Named after Mont Rochelle's previous owner, Miko Rwayitare, Miko is a contemporary fine-dining restaurant with seating indoors and out. The terrace offers spectacular views of the Franschhoek valley and mountains and has quirky touches such as chairs covered in faux grass with beaded sheep grazing among them. The menu consists of dishes cooked with local, seasonal produce, and the cuisine is international with South African influences. Dinner could begin with scallops served with a puree of guava, peas, a vanilla foam, and micro greens. For mains there's an array of delicious meat dishes—from springbok and lamb loin to beef fillet and Cape Malay chicken—as well as line-fish options and vegetarian dishes. Round off the meal with a citrus soufflé with orange and marmalade ice cream, crème brûlée with fresh strawberries, or parfait made with pineapple, coconut, peanut butter, and nut brittle.
