Fodor's Expert Review Wombles

Wombles is an upmarket steak house with a warm, yet rather formal atmosphere and generous portions. If you want to try something very South African, go for the springbok shank with savory green peppercorn sauce and stewed fruit on the side. If you still have space, try the rosewater ice cream with chocolate rose petals, made from an old family recipe. As good as the food is, Wombles is also an experience, with rich decorations and impeccable service.
