A cool, well-priced little hotel at the heart of Cape Town's nightlife in a lovely heritage building. Just know what you're signing up for: when we say at the heart of Cape Town's nightlife, we really mean it, and that comes with all the obvious disadvantages as well as the advantages.

The upper floors of a beautifully restored Victorian building on trendy Long Street house this incredibly good-value boutique hotel made up of 12 luxurious rooms. Chic design—all elegant white-and-silver minimalism—retains warmth thanks to the historic setting. The service is attentive and knowledgeable. A word of warning though: you are right in the middle of the action here. While that makes sitting on the hotel's balcony and gazing at the revelers below pretty fun, and you couldn't be closer to some of Cape Town's best nightlife, there are downsides--notably, the lack of peace and quiet--too.
You Should Know While every effort has been made to soundproof the rooms, street noise from the legendary Long Street nightlife does still leak in.

Room
Five of the rooms have private balconies, and the hotel has good amenities (satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee in the room, ceiling fans, and a/c) for the price. The style is white and modern, with splashes of color.
You Should Know The hotel is a heritage building, so the owners have been unable to make it wheelchair accessible.
Bathroom
Several rooms have freestanding Victorian bathtubs, and others have walk-in showers. All are spotlessly clean and fairly spacious.
Lobby
The small reception is cool and modern, with bright pictures behind the desk and brilliant staff.
Dining
The hotel provides rusks downstairs for guests seeking breakfast, but has sensibly decided not to compete with the many cafes and restaurants nearby offering brilliant morning options.
Tip Try nearby Lola's, and the avocado eggs benedict, to kick your day off the right way.
Drinking
There's no bar as such, but guests can purchase drinks and snacks in the lobby and enjoy beers on the communal balcony area.

Getting Around
The location couldn't be better for Long Street and the area's history and nightlife. It's also pretty well-located for the rest of Cape Town - easy drives or Ubers to most of the attractions. At night, if you are planning to walk any great distance around the CBD area, it might be better to get a cab for safety reasons.
Restaurants
Yes, the meat in Cape Town is great, but if you need a break (or if you plain don't eat meat), Plant (1-minute walk) is a gourmet vegan restaurant just steps away from the hotel. Or for hearty, traditional food in a lively, often drumming-filled atmosphere, try Mama Africa (2-minute walk).
Bars
The hotel recommends Beer House (2-minute walk), which has a great selection of beers and hearty pub fare to line the stomach for later. Or try The Waiting Room (1-minute walk) for its cool rooftop terrace overlooking the city and Table Mountain. Or if you really want to party, hit The Dubliner (1-minute walk), the busy, but buzzing, pub, with live music, a DJ and affordable drinks.
